The Pure Elements often blend, causing changes in their reactivity.
These reactions can be seen both in the powerful spirits in the tapestry around us, as well as in the ways in which the Spirits influence their gifted children.

It is important to know how mixing elements changes the resulting spell. In understanding this, we can also better understand our own spirits.

Earth & Air: Static and Firm, yet free and floating.

Rock: Trustworthy, reliable.
Air: A cool breeze which is sought by many.

Earth always wishes to settle down, yet wind can never do that - or else it dies.

Air and Fire flow - in fact, they rarely move any other way.
This combination is passionate, empowering, fast and intense.
When paired with others, it is warm and inviting.

Earth takes its time, but always makes an impact.

Water is nourishing and restorative.
Earth is grounded. Sure of itself. Defined.
Water reforms itself to fill its container.

Earth is stubborn. When it acts, it is always subtle yet dramatic.
Earth can quickly extinguish a weak flame, and destroy the purity of water.
Earth impedes air, restricting freedom. It seeks to be the foundation of things. It battles with water for that dominance, often appearing to submit only to retain control on a deeper level.

Yet every weakness brings strength, just as every strength brings weakness.

Fire can reflect upon Earth, and together the two can bring warmth and comfort to others.

If fire burns too intensely, I can melt earth. Melted Earth will flow like Water. Yet unlike the healing and nourishing water, this melted earth is a powerful and terrifying force. When it cools, it leaves chaos in its wake. Remember though, that this destruction also serves as that foundation for new life, purified by fire, and fertilized by earth.

If Earth attempts to dominate fire, it will smother it. Earth can never destroy a pure flame, but it can dim its brilliance.

When Air is blended with Earth, the Air is cool and soft.
When Air is blended with Fire, the Air is hot and harsh.

Know well the dangers of combining these two forces, for when they mix, they will dance into turbulence, and can unleash a destructive power greater than themselves.

Air can not be seen - it can only be felt. It is nebulous, fluid, invisible but deafening when it roars.
It blends easily with other elements, and carries them to new heights.

Like all elements, it doesn't lose itself when it blends. It only enhances its partner.

The pure fluidity of air can be seen as flaky or unreliable.

It is quick to move and act on emotion. This makes it confusing to others. Unpredictable.

It craves spontaneity and change, but that means it detests structure and conformity.

Air will uproot in a moment, without thought, drift away, and settle elsewhere - oblivious of the chaos it made in its wake.

Air is ethereal. It looks to the heavens, and seeks the stars. It is rarely content with the treasures of this world.

Of all the elements, Air is the hardest to capture - both the spirit of power, and the spirit of concept.
Air is talkative. It is always talking, if you listen. Flirtatious but never committing.
